With only a few weeks to go, Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching, and love lingers all around us! If you’ve been a regular reader of my blog, I hope you enjoyed last year’s post about the history of February 14th. (The True Meaning of Valentine's Day.) Today, instead of a history lesson, I’d like to share my thoughts about my love for Italy.
Growing up in Italy, I lived in one of the most romantic countries on this Earth! The country remains breathtaking with intimate islands, rich historical remnants from the Renaissance period and architecture that defines design; truly a distinguishable destination for honeymooners, world travelers and thrill seekers. From Florence, to Rome, to Naples or to the iconic Lake Como, Italy supplies unparalleled scenery. Shakespeare couldn’t help but use fair Verona as the backdrop for Romeo and Juliet!
Italy is also home to some of the finest dining and cuisine experiences. For those who have not experienced authentic Italian dishes, you are missing out on one of the most luscious dining experiences ever conceived! Many restaurants and cafés try to match some of the recipes but unfortunately their dishes do not begin to compare with authentic dishes. If you’d like the opportunity to enjoy and learn more about authentic Italian cuisine, please contact me! I do “in-home dinners” every month where I share my mother’s recipes and the rich culture of Italy with guests!
I love my home country; it has instilled in me a passion and drive that pushes me to always better myself. My love for Italy inspired the creation of Luca’s Boutique, along with the Italian craftsmanship that fills my shelves with one-of-a-kind pieces of beauty. When sharing these pieces with customers, I love hearing about their experiences with Italy and Italian made products. I often hear how Italian influence has transformed a customer’s definition of quality.
Throughout the millennium, Italy remains on the forefront of innovated design. The quality lies in the details. From fashion, cars, furniture, leather and even food, Italian design has impacted the world for the better.
I love it.
